My car needed brakes pretty badly. Of course, I put it off until the longest possible - since my only option was my trusty VW mechanic guy who wanted me to drop my car off on Friday "for the weekend" - and pick it up Monday. Which means I'm out of my car for a whole weekend. Not really feasible. The rear brakes got to the point where I could hear a unnerving grinding noise when I would brake - which would subsequently make me change my driving habits in that I would brake earlier than usual in an attempt to "baby" whatever's left of my brakes - inadvertently pissing off other drivers around me since I would start to apply brake pressure well before getting to a light. I started to look on Yelp for a brake service closer to work, and while searching specifically for services that opened later in the evening, I came across EZ Brakes - Mobile Brake Service. I was intrigued - a mobile brake service? That's convenient if it's true. I started to skim the reviews... all five star reviews - which for any other business is a good sign - but for a relatively newer business, and as someone who has been on Yelp practically forever - I started to get suspicious. Really? All these stellar five star reviews? Not one bad or subpar review? Admittedly I wasn't sold until I remembered a few years back when I was looking for a smog check business and also stumbled across a Yelp page of a business that had similarly five-star reviews from relatively new accounts. I gave that business a shot anyway, and quickly realized that those reviews were most likely legitimate. Since I knew work had a complicated parking situation, I met Parker at a place more convenient to the both of us - and he got to work right away on my rear brakes. Service was prompt and quick - and the work was done in a little over an hour and a half. The whole time he comfortably made conversation while I waited for the rear brake pads to be replaced. When it was time to pay, the total came up much higher than the quote I had received - but I figured it was the cost of just getting the rear pads removed (instead of all four), and completed the payment. Driving away, I was happy that my brakes didn't make that grinding noise anymore, and I was left content. A few hours later, Parker sent me an email admitting that he may have mistakenly overcharged me and that he would be processing a partial refund to address the overcharge. Overall, a honest and professional business run by Parker and family. I'm all for supporting locally owned businesses (instead of being ripped off by dealerships) - and they come to your work or home! Prompt and efficient service - need to reach out to him now to get my front pads replaced.
