My car started shaking and vibrating when I pressed on the brakes. My usual auto shop said that was normal when coming from high speeds...but this happened even when I took side streets and I wasn't even slamming on the brakes. Also, my car never shook when braking until recently. Above mentioned shop said my rear brakes needed to be changed but my front ones were fine. Ok. Eventually, I got sick of the car vibrating and and sent EZ-brakes a yelp message for a second opinion. They called it during the estimate without even looking at my car...my front pads and rotors were warped. I met them the next morning after I got my quote. They start as early as 8am and as late as the last ray of sunlight and provide service anywhere within the OC. I opted to meet Parker and his brother, Chase, at a shopping plaza in a somewhat secluded section to give them room to work since my condo complex had limited parking and tight spaces. They were on time and transparent in everything they did....Auto shops just give you a list of things that they recommend and you're expected to take them at their word. I could sit in my car while they worked. Only took under 30-40 minutes and I was on my way to work. I was unnerved by a grinding and clutching noise and turned back before the freeway. I was 99% sure it was due to the fresh brakes, but didn't want to risk it. Parker was kind enough to return and drove my car around himself to make sure things were safe. I appreciated that he came back rather than simply saying it was normal over the phone. Sure enough, the noise disappeared after Parker drove it. Guess they needed time to break in like shoes...cars I don't understand, but shoes I do! *Sidenote: they were going to throw in brake fluid without charge when I asked for the service. Parker showed me on his oil thermometer-looking device that my brake fluid was still good...two different auto shops mentioned my brake fluid was low..and quoted $90-$100....so extra kudos for honesty!
